Breaking Into Entrepreneurship
Ever chanced upon an amazing innovation or made something that you felt could appeal to others? Ever listened to the famous entrepreneurs like Steve Jobs and wished his life could be yours? Ever felt an epiphany and realised you don’t want to be stuck working a 9-5?
If you said yes to any of the above, you have come to the right place.
Entrepreneurship often takes years of hard work, long hours, and recognition to become successful but the real question is, where do we even begin?
SIM YEN has had the honour to collaborate with the Singapore Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI) to carry out the Breaking into Entrepreneurship Workshop on 21st October 2020 through the Zoom platform.
Speaker’s profile:
Mr Zhou Wentong specializes in transforming small and medium enterprises (SME) to the next level of growth. With 25 years of experience in Corporate and Business advisory to SME less than USD 200M market capitalization, he has personally engaged with more than 100 Companies across Asia-Pacific. Many were groomed for organic growth to achieve private investment funding, eventual IPO funding, trade sales, or share swap with corporate channel allies.
Mr Zhou Wentong obtained a Bachelor of Business Degree sponsored by the Ministry of Defence (Singapore). He is also the Principal of International Business School, the Dean of Jewish Business School, and the Founder of Singapore’s largest business network platform – Singapore Business Network. He is a well sought-after speaker in investment and has been featured on Taiwan’s national TV.
Venturing into entrepreneurship is daunting and it often takes years of perseverance to navigate through unprecedented challenges. Thankfully the workshop gave us a headstart as Mr Zhou shared his insights on starting a business through the following areas - how to get started on entrepreneurship, entrepreneurship methodology, product & service design and strategies on raising funds for startups. Other important topics like the importance of effective sales pitching, pricing strategies and understanding consumer psychology were also discussed in great detail. If you're a student or an aspiring young entrepreneur, our workshop provided students with invaluable insights on starting and managing a successful startup.
If you have missed our workshop, fret not as we have uploaded the full recording on our Facebook page.
